This week, the largest gathering of foundations in the US is happening in Seattle, where the annual meeting of the Council on Foundations takes place this year. In its coverage, the Chronicle of Philanthropy talks about how there is growing concern that the traditional news media system in the US may hinder the ability of foundations to accurately assess social problems and devise effective methods of combating these problems. However, panelists also discussed the growing relevancy of blogs and their ability to tap the knowledge of experts and drill down to the root of a issue.
